The City of Ashland has partnered with Southern Oregon Jobs with Justice (SOJWJ) to provide emergency shelter for individuals at risk during extreme weather conditions. This collaborative effort will operate a severe weather shelter, offering safe overnight accommodations as dictated by temperature thresholds outlined in Resolution 2022-33.
Due to cold temperatures in the forecast, a severe weather shelter will be activated on Sunday, December 8, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The shelter will be a low barrier, no frills, overnight shelter and space is limited. Doors close and lights out at 9 p.m.
The shelter will be located at 84 4th St in Ashland and will be managed by SOJWJ with support from the City to ensure a safe and respectful environment for those in need. This initiative reflects the City’s commitment to supporting its most vulnerable residents in times of crisis, in alignment with the policies established in Resolution 2022-33.
