The City of Ashland Public Arts Advisory Committee is seeking qualifications from professional artists to design a site-specific art for a decorative crosswalk at the entrance of Lithia Park on Winburn Way in the Ashland Downtown Historic District.
Artists are to submit their artwork according to the INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION in the attached Call for Artist Packet. The deadline for artist submission is Friday, June 7, 2024.
The artist will create original, site-specific artwork for a decorative crosswalk that will be transferred to thermoplastic materials and installed by the City’s Public Works Department. The artwork should represent the historic character of the Downtown Historic District. A selection panel of professionals, community members, and business owners will select one artist or artist-led team. The selected artists will be awarded $1,000 for their artwork.
The project is being implemented as part of the City of Ashland Beautification Initiative.
