[ARCHIVED] Wildfire South of Ashland Prompts Level 2 Evacuation Alerts in Nearby Zones

ORIGINAL Post 4 p.m.  

There is a fire in the far south outside of Ashland, winds are blowing away from Ashland at this time. Fire crews from Ashland, Fire District #5, ODF and a number of air resources are engaged and fighting the fire. Due to the wind direction, blowing away from Ashland, there is no immediate threat to the City of Ashland. Per Jackson County Emergency Management Zones, JAC-542, JAC-536 and JAC-558 are at a “Level 2 Be Set evacuation level.” Because of Zone JAC-536 anyone using the trails in the Ashland Watershed south of Ashland should be made aware of the Level 2 Be Set evacuation notice and the fire. Updates for local Ashland information can be accessed via the radio station AM1700 and the Ashland Wildfire Hotline 541-552-2490.
