Ashland Fire & Rescue (AF&R) invites you for an open house! Fire Station 1 at 455 Siskiyou Boulevard will be open to the public on Friday, May 31 from 2 pm to 6 pm. Join us for a fun and informative day where you can meet firefighters, EMTs and see fire & rescue response vehicles and equipment up close. We have partnered with Jackson County Long-term Recovery Group, Talent Historical Society and Access to share more about the Almeda Fire history and recovery effort.

  • The Talent Historical Society (THS) was founded in 1994 with a mission to preserve local history and heritage and to share this heritage with the public. THS recently won a Project Excellence Award from Oregon Heritage Commission, for the documentation of the Almeda Fire in a blog a book and an exhibit, all in both Spanish and English. THS will be sharing the book as part of the open house and a display of historic photos from the Almeda Fire.
  • Through an interactive emoji board activation hosted by clinical chaplain, Jackson County Community Long-Term Recovery Group (JCC LTRG) offers participants a sticker to place next to the emoji or emotion word that best represents their current feelings. This acts as an invitation to process their emotions related to fire and disaster and acts as a starting point for accessing further resources for healing and mental health resilience.

Access is attending and can help navigate residents to resources both for fire recovery and housing.

AF&R strives to provide our community with the best available all-hazard emergency response, non-emergency response, prevention, public education, emergency management, CERT, weed abatement and wildfire risk reduction services in Southern Oregon. We are proud of the exemplary staff of dedicated professionals who have risen to the challenges presented before them and are eager to share the work we do within the community and with area partners.

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support we receive from our community, the City Council, and our City Administration. AF&R is dedicated to our core values of professionalism, compassion, integrity, teamwork and community. We look forward to meeting you this Friday at 455 Siskiyou Blvd in Ashland (across from the Ashland Public Library) from 2 to 6 p.m.

Parking can be found in the neighborhoods off 4th and 5th streets. We recommend walking or biking to the event if possible.
