Do you have a local, public event that you would like to promote? The City of Ashland, in collaboration with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), is pleased to announce updated guidelines and safety measures for signage on public roadways, including overhead event banners.
To promote local events and ensure public safety, the banner policy will allow event organizers to display banners over East Main St for a one-week period prior to their event. The banners, installed by the City Electric Department, will be placed on Monday mornings and will remain until the following Monday.
This initiative aims to advertise local events effectively while adhering to specific content guidelines. Event banners must be related to events happening within a 5-mile radius of the banner location on East Main St. The event may not be more than two weeks in duration and must be open to the public. The banners are strictly for local, non-political events. Banners may include only the event name, logo, date, time and location. Website addresses are not permitted.
Additional guidelines may be enforced. For information about ODOT’s sign policy, please refer to page 138 of the ODOT sign policy, email or call 541.890.0304.
To apply for banner space with the City of Ashland, and review banner specifications such as materials and sizing, event organizers can visit ashlandoregon.gov/Electric. Given the competitive nature of banner space, early application is recommended to secure a spot and ensure compliance with all requirements.
