The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued an air quality advisory Tuesday for Jackson County due to smoke from the Salt Creek Fire. DEQ expects the air quality advisory to last until at least Thursday evening. DEQ and partner agencies will continue to monitor smoke in the area.
Smoke is expected to intermittently impact Jackson County and, now is the time to get supplies for reducing smoke exposure. N-95 respirators, air cleaners with a HEPA rating and air conditioning filters with a MERV rating of 13 or higher are some of the recommended supplies.
