[ARCHIVED] Enhance Your Emergency Preparedness in Ashland

Evacuation Map for the City of Ashland

The City of Ashland encourages all residents and visitors to take proactive steps in emergency preparedness. Whether you're a long-time resident or a first-time visitor, being prepared can make all the difference during unexpected situations.

To assist in this effort, the City promotes local emergency preparedness aimed at equipping individuals and families with essential information and resources. Key elements include:

  • Access to Preparedness Resources: Visit the newly launched Emergency Preparedness page at ashlandoregon.gov/BetterPrepared. Here, you can find detailed insights into evacuation zones, understanding evacuation levels and steps to pack a Go Bag.
  • Sign Up for Alerts: Stay informed with Everbridge Citizen Alert. This system allows for targeted alerts during emergencies, ensuring you receive timely information tailored to your location. Residents are urged to create an online account at ashlandoregon.gov/BetterPrepared to manage preferences and ensure accurate delivery of alerts via text, landline, and/or email.
  • Visitor Information: For those visiting Ashland, signing up for text alerts is quick and easy. Simply text 97520 to 888777 while in the area to stay informed about local emergencies. You can unsubscribe from these alerts when you leave. For locals who don’t want to create a full account, signing up for text alerts only is an option.
  • Continued Engagement: In addition to signing up for Everbridge Citizen Alert, subscribe to website notifications for customizable updates, including news releases and emergency alerts to the City website (these alerts are in addition to Everbridge Citizen Alerts).

Ashland Mayor Tonya Graham underscores the significance of community readiness: "Being prepared is our collective responsibility. By staying informed and proactive, we strengthen our ability to respond effectively to any emergency situation."

Be sure to visit ashlandoregon.gov/BetterPrepared. “We are Better Together!”
