The Lithia Fire Pit is OPEN!
There are two fire pits in Lithia Park. One is currently not available for use and the other is available for use by permit only. The fire pit available for use is on an "island" that Ashland Creek flows around upstream from the Cotton Memorial Bridge. Open flames are NOT allowed anywhere else in Lithia Park.
To secure a permit please submit the online application form at least one week prior to the desired date of use. You may secure multiple dates on one form. By submitting the form you are agreeing to adhere to the following rules.
- Use the fire pit that is identified on the map with "permit required"
- Have a copy of the permit on-site when using the fire pit
- Use only clean firewood (no pallets, treated or painted wood, scrap w/ nails or screws. etc.)
- Bring your own firewood. Do not forage wood from Lithia Park
- Wood left on-site may be removed
- Never leave the fire unattended
- Be prepared with fire suppression methods (extinguisher, water, etc.)
- Do not leave until the fire is completely out and cold
- Do not remove ashes from the fire pit
- APR may revoke permits or close the fire pits at anytime
- Keep in mind that restrooms close at 5pm during the Winter months, and restroom access may not be available after dark.
Ashland Parks & Rec staff will be in touch within 5 business days once your application has been processed. Your application MUST BE APPROVED BEFORE USE.
