Financial Assistance
Food
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Double Up Food Bucks Oregon (PDF) (if on SNAP, get up to $10 extra per day for purchasing fruits and veggies at participating farmers' markets)
- Ashland Community Food Bank, 541-488-9544 - Satellite food pantry at Ashland Senior Center open Monday-Thursday, 8:30-3:30pm (very limited offerings). In addition to onsite visits, there is a home delivery option from Ashland Community Food Bank for those who qualify - call 541-488-9544 for qualifications and list of services.
- Food and Friends Lunch Program, 541-734-9505 - Lunch is served at Ashland Senior Center, currently Monday through Friday, 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, by donation for seniors 60 years and older. Home-delivered meals are available for qualifying seniors

- Access Energy Assistance - Apply for assistance with gas heating and inquire about weatherization to help reduce your energy bill. 541-779-9020

- Medicare subsidies: Assistance to pay for Medicare costs (Parts B and D) - 855-447-0155
Property Tax/Tax Preparation
- AARP Foundation Property Tax Aide helps homeowners find tax credits for which they might be eligible, as a way to offset the high cost of housing (you do not have to be an AARP member to use this free service)
- AARP Foundation Tax Aide Free income tax preparation and e-filing for low- or moderate-income taxpayers of all ages. For Ashland appointments at the Lower-Level of Stevenson Union on Southern Oregon University campus, call 541-708-9346. Call 888-227-7669 for information about alternative sites.
- VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) or FSA (Facilitated Self Assistance) through the United Way of Jackson County offers free income tax assistance programs. Call 541-864-0448 for appointments or visit the appointment portal at tmaconline.org.
Internet Access
- Ashland Fiber Network: $25 per month internet service for low-income Ashland residents. If you are already receiving the utility discount from the City of Ashland, you qualify automatically; just call AFN 541-552-2222 to sign up for the discounted senior internet service.
Medicare & Social Security
- SHIBA (Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance): 541-857-7780. Call to schedule a phone appointment for one-on-one counseling about your health insurance and Medicare options. SHIBA volunteers can also help income-qualified seniors apply for Medicare Part B and D costs.

Veterans Resources

- Jackson County Veterans Services: Assists veterans or family members with applying for benefits through the Federal VA and navigating the system. Can also help with ordering service records and DD-214s. 541-774-8214
