Strategic Plan

Ashland Strategic Plan Logo We are launching a community-driven Strategic Plan to help chart our shared future. This plan will guide how we deliver services, set priorities and invest resources over the coming years, with staff perspectives playing an important role alongside community input.

Why are we creating a Strategic Plan?

A lot has changed in the past five years, and more changes are happening in real time. The Strategic Plan project is an opportunity to create stability and increase cohesiveness of City services by collectively naming our desired-direction and identifying what we want to prioritize over the next five to 10 years.

What is the timeline for the 2026 planning process?

  • January: Host a Strategic Planning Workshop for City Council
  • February: Develop Communications and Engagement Plan
  • March and April: Conduct robust community and staff engagement
  • May: Synthesize engagement results and create the Strategic Plan framework
  • June: Draft Strategic Plan
  • July: Seek feedback on the draft Strategic Plan and finalize Strategic Plan
  • August: Adopt Strategic Plan

How can I share my thoughts and ideas for the Strategic Plan?

We are still developing our engagement and communication plan. The best way to stay in the loop is to sign-up for the City's e-newsletter. We will post updates, engagement opportunities and share major findings through the e-newsletter.

Updates to City Council will take place on the following dates:

  • March 16, 2026
  • April 20, 2026
  • May 18, 2026
